Privacy policy
Last updated: 28 October 2026. This is an English translation; the Turkish version (Gizlilik Politikası) is binding.
This policy explains how personel.net's website and its iOS and Android apps (together "personel.net") collect, use, share and protect your personal data. Your data is processed in line with Turkey's Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK); details are in the KVKK Privacy Notice. For questions and requests, write to destek@personel.net or use personel.net/destek.
1. Data we collect — Account: name, e-mail address, your password (only an irreversible hash is stored) and, optionally, phone number and profile photo. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive only the provider's account ID and your verified e-mail address; no other data in your Google/Apple account is accessed.
CV and applications: work experience, education, skills, languages, job preferences, the CV file and cover letters you upload; your applications, answers to screening questions, messages with employers and interview details. For employers: company details, job listings, order and invoice details, company verification documents.
Usage and device: in-app usage events to improve the service (e.g. the job viewed, filters used, number of results; the text you type into search is not stored), session details (device type, IP address) and your device's notification token so we can send notifications.
Location: if you use "Jobs near me", your device's location is sent to the server for that search only; it is not stored, nor written to statistics or logs. Without location permission, search works by city. When you upload a photo, only the image you pick is sent, and all EXIF data, including location, is removed.
What we don't use: personel.net does not use ad networks, advertising IDs or third-party tracking tools, and does not sell your personal data. The mobile app has no third-party analytics or crash-reporting tools. On the website, Google Analytics runs only if you accept it in the cookie banner (see the Cookie policy). "Sponsored" content on the site is shown by the topic of the page you are viewing, not by a personal profile.
2. Why we use data — to create your account and keep it secure (session management, two-step verification, preventing abuse); to run your job search, applications and hiring processes; to send the notifications you choose and the job alert e-mails you set up; to take payment for and invoice employer packages; to answer support requests; to improve the service with aggregate, de-identified statistics; and to meet legal obligations. Applications are never rejected automatically; indicators such as the match score are for information only, and people make the decisions.
3. Who we share it with — The employer of a job you apply to sees your application and CV details. If you separately turn on appearing in the talent pool (off by default), employers can see your profile without your contact details and CV file; your contact details are shared only in contact requests you accept, and only as much as you choose. Company reviews are published anonymously, without your name.
The providers we work with to run the service see only the data they need: server and backup hosting, e-mail delivery, payment institutions (iyzico, PayTR; your card details are not stored by personel.net), notification infrastructure (Expo, Google Firebase Cloud Messaging, Apple Push Notification Service) and Google/Apple sign-in. Data may be shared with competent public authorities where the law requires it.
Transfers abroad: the notification infrastructure (Expo, Google, Apple), Google/Apple sign-in and, if you accepted it, Google Analytics may process data on servers outside Turkey. Features such as AI-assisted CV suggestions work only with explicit consent you give separately each time.
4. How long we keep it — Your data is kept while your account is open. Some data is deleted automatically: recent searches after 90 days, closed sessions after 30 days, read notifications after 1 year, all notifications after 2 years, usage statistics after 400 days, messages 2 years after the last message, interviews 2 years after the interview date, closed support requests after 2 years. Financial records such as orders and invoices are kept for the legally required period.
5. Security — All connections are encrypted (HTTPS). Passwords are stored irreversibly, and two-step verification is available. Files you upload are not public; they are shown only to authorised people after a permission check. Actions that require access to personal data are logged.
6. Your rights, downloading your data and deleting your account — Under Article 11 of the KVKK you have the right to learn whether your data is processed, to request information and a copy, to ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and to object. You can get a copy of your data on the website under Account settings → "My data and consents", and in the mobile app under Profile → Privacy and my data → "Download my data".
You can delete your account at any time: on the website at personel.net/en/settings/delete-account, in the mobile app under Profile → Privacy and my data. When your account is deleted, your profile, CV details and file, applications, messages, job alerts and notifications are deleted and your account is anonymised. Financial records that must be kept by law and statistics no longer linked to you remain. If you cannot sign in, write to destek@personel.net from your registered e-mail address.
7. Children — personel.net is a career platform for people of working age and for employers; it is not directed at children.
8. Changes — When we update this policy, the date on this page changes; we announce significant changes separately.
